Warwick Smith is Chairman of AL Capital board. Warwick is also Chairman, Advisory Board – Australian Capital Equity holder of interests in Seven Group Holdings (of which he is a Board Director), Seven West Media Limited, Coates Hire, Beach Energy, WesTrac and Caterpillar industrial services and equipment in Western Australia and New South Wales. He is Chairman of Ord Minnett and Wollar Solar and a Board Director of Marinus Link Pty Ltd as well as the Lead Independent Director of Jemena Pipeline and Energy.

With the Business Council of Australia, Warwick is the Chairman of the Global Engagement Committee. He has served as Chairman of the Australia–China Council for over 8 years and was the inaugural Chair of the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations. In addition, he was a Global Trustee of the Asia Society, headquartered in New York and Chairman Emeritus of the Asia Society in Australia. He is the inaugural business representative for the BOAO Forum for Asia and a Committee Member, Boao Forum for the Asia Expert Committee on Financial Cooperation.

Warwick has more than 20 years experience in banking and financial services having held senior roles as an Executive Director with the Macquarie Bank Group as well as Chairman New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory and former Senior Managing Director for the ANZ Banking Group Limited which included Chairman of ANZ Bank China and Chairman of ANZ Bank Thailand. He has previously been Chairman of E*TRADE Limited; Board Director of Estia Health Ltd and Chairman of the Australian Sports Commission. He was also Chairman of the National Museum of Australia, the Australia–China Council and the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations.

Warwick was an Australian Federal Government Minister with a parliamentary career spanning 15 years. He was Australia's first Telecommunications Ombudsman and has received a Centenary Medal and has twice been awarded an Order of Australia.

Wayne Mo, founding CEO of AL Capital brings more than 25 years’ experience in international banking, structured finance, investment and M&A.

His career spans experience in China, Australia, Brazil, Singapore, Hong Kong and other Asian countries. Wayne has been focussed on Australia China investment and trade flows over the past two decades. He is recognised as one of the most experienced senior executives and bankers in the Australia/China investment corridor.

Jin Lin founded Aqualand in 2014 and has been one of the country’s leading luxury developers since, with a real estate portfolio of 25 sites worth over $5.5 billion. For Jin, precision and pride are paramount. As the head of Aqualand, he has spearheaded the company’s rapid growth thanks to a deep-seated work ethic instilled in him by a profoundly industrious family.

As Group Managing Director of Aqualand, Etymon Projects and AL Capital, Jin is devoted to creating legacies for future generations. He is committed to distinguishing Aqualand as a property, hospitality and investment group that thinks with its heart, undertaking projects in areas that are set to benefit from urban regeneration. Under Jin’s leadership, Aqualand is a vested corporate citizen, sponsoring and supporting cultural and sporting initiatives ranging from The Art Gallery of NSW to the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi. Jin is a member of the Art Gallery of NSW President’s Council.

Gilles Plante has over 25 years of experience in global financial markets and corporate and investment banking, having represented Credit Suisse and ANZ Banking Group in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.

Gilles has served on the Board of Etrade Australia, Esanda (Australia), Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank (China), Bank of Tianjin (China), Ambank (Malaysia) and was the Chairman of ANZ Bank China and Thailand, and is currently Managing Partner at Artesian, a leading Australian Venture Capital firm.

Vincent Hua is a highly experienced banking and investment management professional with over 30 years of experience. He has held senior positions at some of the largest global banks in the world, including Lehman Brothers, Commonwealth Bank, Shinsei Bank and Westpac.

During the past 12 years, Vincent has invested and managed a significant number of direct investments across various industries globally, including resources, retail, infrastructure, logistics, and financial services. He was one of the founders of Mason Stevens Group and served as its Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer for over a decade.

Vincent is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, and he holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Economics, with a focus on Actuarial Science and Finance, from Macquarie University.

Phil Smith is a Director of AL Capital and heads up the Distribution team.

Phil’s experience in investment markets includes management roles with Hill Samuel Merchant Bank (London) and St George Bank and partner of Cutcher & Neale Investment Services.

Phil has almost 30 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, having established Cutcher & Neale Investment Services from scratch, growing Funds Under Management to over $800m and employing 20 staff in Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane.

Phil is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and Fellow of FINSIA.

Wim Steemers joined AL Capital in 2018. Wim has over 20 years of experience in investment markets, on top of ten years in strategy consulting, where he helped multinational companies develop their global expansion strategies. His work spans 40 countries across all continents.

Prior to joining AL Capital, Wim worked at global asset managers Colonial First State, Macquarie and AllianceBernstein, where he was responsible for covering stocks in both developed and emerging markets. Wim recently developed a behavioural finance-driven portfolio algorithm that has proven successful in generating above-market returns.

Sharon Yang is the Head of Capital Transactions at AL Capital. With more than 15 years experience in real estate capital markets, she has been involved in over $6 billion of real estate acquisitions and initiatives in Australia and China. These include major acquisitions such as 45 Clarence Street, 55 Clarence Street, 1 Castlereagh Street in Sydney and Hang Seng Bank Tower in Shanghai.

Before joining AL Capital in 2021, Sharon worked at CBRE Asia Pacific for 10 years as Senior Director - Capital Markets, where she focused on real estate transactions. Prior to joining CBRE, Sharon served as the Head of Commercial Services for Eastern China business at Knight Frank.

Sharon holds an MBA from Macquarie Business School and a Bachelor of Business Administration – Economics from Fudan University. She is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, MRICS.

Wally Denning became a valuable member of the AL Capital team in 2023, serving as a Senior Investment Analyst and Assistant Portfolio Manager.

Prior to this role, he gained extensive experience at wealth managers Mason Stevens and Cutcher & Neale, focusing on the analysis and execution of fixed income portfolios, and at boutique fixed income broker Curve Securities.

Wally is a graduate of the University of Sydney, holding a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Science.

Tiffany Zhu joined AL Capital in 2021 as a Fund Analyst within the real estate team. Her key responsibilities include financial modelling, feasibility analysis, market research, due diligence, IM preparation and AFSL compliance.

Tiffany has over 5 years of experience in property finance and real estate funds management. Prior to AL Capital, she worked as an investment associate within a private investment house specialising in real estate funds, where she assisted in establishing seven wholesale property funds and managing a registered managed investment scheme.

Tiffany holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Sydney and a Master of Property Development from the University of Technology Sydney. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a CFA program candidate. She is also RG146 compliant.

With her 7 years wide range of professional knowledge and client relationship experience, Regina has provided comprehensive and professional wealth management services for High-Net-Worth investors from both China and Australia.

Regina earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Macquarie University.

Prior to joining AL Capital, Isabella worked as an Investment Operations associate at IRESS. She worked one-on-one with boutique investment fund clients to create and facilitate bespoke solutions for their operational needs.

Warwick Smith AO of which she is the Chief Operations Officer of his private company, Kansu Capital Pty Ltd.

Jasmine has worked across multiple industries and sectors, such as financial services, telecommunications, media, entertainment, technology, construction, agriculture, energy, resources and retail. With extensive experience dealing with UHNW individuals, national and international companies, small business, private sector, government agencies and not-for-profit organisations.

Before joining AL Capital, Marika supported the CEO at Wilson Asset Management, and prior to this, has provided support to the CFO for Macquarie Bank’s Banking and Financial Services division, and the Head of M&A at Challenger.

Subhas DeGamia joined AL Capital Management Pte Ltd in 2018 as Managing Director of Singapore. Subhas is a senior international financial services executive with expertise in investment banking, global financial markets, risk management advisory, and family office management, across established and emerging markets.

Subhas is a strategic relationship builder across multiple customer segments. His on-ground experience has allowed him to build connections across Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Prior to joining AL Capital, he worked for ANZ Banking Group Limited, Bank of New Zealand and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Subhas is a Fellow of FINSIA and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Joining AL Capital as Chief Investment Officer, Singapore, Weixiong brings over 15 years’ experience as an investment professional focusing on Asian equities.

He leads the firm’s efforts into building our Asian equity offering and is responsible for the day to day management of our Singapore office.

Prior to joining AL Capital, Weixiong was Portfolio Manager at Nikko Asset Management, Columbia Threadneedle Investments and most recently Reed Capital which he co-founded. Earlier in his career, Weixiong has also held various equity capital market roles at Standard Chartered Bank and UOB.

Weixiong holds a Bachelor of Business (First Class Honours) from Nanyang Technological University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Jeremy has over 20 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and project finance. He was the Deputy CEO and Managing Director of an investment arm under HNA Group, responsible for corporate development, global M&A and investments, and portfolio management.

Previously, Jeremy worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse, UBS and BNP Paribas.

Kenneth has close to 10 years of experience in investment management, portfolio management and asset management. He was a Vice President of an investment arm under HNA Group.

Prior to joining HNA Group, Kenneth worked in HSBC Private Banking and JP Morgan Asset Management. He holds an MSc degree in Computer & Information Technology from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

She has close to 20 years of experience in Private Banking/ Wealth Management, working directly with entrepreneurs and family offices from Asia to Europe with the focus on Greater China. She held senior positions in top tier banks, including UBS, JP Morgan, DBS, and BNP Paribas, where she led, developed, and managed family office business.

Before joining AL Capital, Leon held the position of Executive Director at Deyu Family Office, a prestigious multi-family office based in China. During his tenure there, he successfully catered to the diverse needs of affluent domestic entrepreneurs, ensuring their financial well-being and prosperity. Leon has close to 10 years of experience in wealth management in renowned financial institutions such as Citibank, HSBC, and Ping An Bank.
